I see glimpses of blue sky as I write this, and part of me can hardly believe the snowstorms are behind us. For real, no more snow squalls and yellow weather warnings? Woah. Well, not today, anyway.
There’s something refreshing about this time of year. Maybe it’s the longer days, the melting snow, or just the chance to step outside without bracing against the cold. Whatever it is, I’m definitely feeling like spring is coming, and that means… planting!

This year, we will be growing seeds for 3 seed companies. In addition to our beloved partners at Hawthorn Farm Organic Seeds as well as Québec-based Heirloom Seeds, we will also be growing many many watermelons – along with a few other seed crops – for Northern Wildflowers. They are based just outside Sudbury, where I grew up.
Seed saving is Rony’s ultimate passion (corn is a close second), and we save our own seeds every year. We decided to put them up for sale, because why not? If building your seed stash brings you joy, you can check out our seeds here.
Also – I just had to share this picture of our asparagus seedlings. So tiny! Can’t wait to harvest them next year.

And we’ve been growing sunflower sprouts – it adds such a fresh boost to everything. Just be sure to snip them before they get too big, or else they will be bitter.
