Watermelon – Black Tail Mountain
One of the earliest maturing watermelon varieties, Black Tail was developed in the 1970s by breeder Glenn Drowns for Idaho’s cool, mountainous climate. Medium-sized, round melons have striking dark green, almost black skins and candy-sweet red flesh. Hardy and reliable, they tolerate cooler temperatures better than most and consistently produce flavorful, juicy fruits.
