Sweet Pea – Perennial

When we first moved to Ontario from Guatemala, we were thrilled to find perennial sweet pea in various meadows. We collected them and kept them going on our farm. These perennial sweet peas produce small blooms in shades of blue and purple, and attract pollinators. They don’t have the strong pungent aroma of the annuals, but we like them because they are the best of both worlds: they are wonderful nitrogen fixers and very pretty, too.
